Yesterday was the 91st anniversary of the Tennessee state assembly’s ratification of the following language of the then-proposed 19th Amendment to the Constitution:
The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.
This approval by Tennessee gave the suffrage movement enough states to carry the amendment and make it an official part of the U.S. Constitution.
As women, and as caretakers of our children, we are therefore called to make the right decisions on who will make the policy for our Denver Public Schools.
I feel like underscoring that…OUR Denver Public Schools.
Are you ok with the current pattern of stasis in graduation rates? In the steep spike in college remediation rates? Then vote for anyone that says “we’re on the right track.”
Think deeply, Denver.
